But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gaudencio Handi couldn't finish the play. In the 13th minute, Diego Hulberto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jesus Telmo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Diego Hulberto, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Gaudencio Handi succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 18th playminute. Tambillo's Teofilo Sauveur played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alvaro Sarracino in the 23rd minute of play. Froilan Medardo scored 1-1 in the 25th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Teofilo Sauveur, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Gaudencio Handi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 31 minutes into the match, Tambillo's goal looked a bit too open when Froilan Medardo came free, but Teofilo Sauveur reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Diego Hulberto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Jesus Telmo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Tambillo players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Tortugas FC were winning 1-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Diego Hulberto was the one to do the kick off. Diego Hulberto struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Jesus Telmo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tambillo. If Froilan Medardo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Teofilo Sauveur was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Alvaro Sarracino showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-3 in the 61 minute of play. After 66 minutes, Rosendo Innocenzio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tortugas FC and the Tambillo players grew even worse after the yellow card. If Alvaro Sarracino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 85 minutes, Alvaro Sarracino took a quick shot and it went in 1-4 without a chance for Teofilo Sauveur to make any attempt to save it. After a rather tough play, Tambillo's Claudio Salomone got a free kick in the 89th minute.
