Israel Marquez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Celestino Tonio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Devlet Kaplan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 46 minutes into the match, River's Israel Marquez sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Celestino Tonio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Devlet Kaplan to strike the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet as Eusebio Amor kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Celestino Tonio. That made the score 0-4 in the 79 minute of play. After having played for 82 minutes, Devlet Kaplan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. River's supporters crossed their fingers, but Devlet Kaplan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, River's Gonzalo Bermund got a free kick in the 96th minute. Diego Maju, 97 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. River played a much better game than Guajal AFC and deserved their victory. The Guajal AFC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
