A collision led to Sarmiento AFC getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Albano Felipo hit a great ball. Julian Oihenarte struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Anier Acuña didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sarmiento AFC. Hilario Sagrario showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gervasio Marques in the 20th minute of the match. With a little luck, Sarmiento AFC's Hilario Sagrario got control of the ball when Zeledon Bonifaco tried to sneak it across the goal line. Libertad's Zeledon Bonifaco got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Simon Dacio charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Simon Dacio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 35th minute, Simon Dacio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hilario Sagrario didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Zeledon Bonifaco went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Anier Acuña showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Oihenarte, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Dionisio Laurendi's late challenge caught a Sarmiento AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dionisio Laurendi helped the player get up and apologised. Zeledon Bonifaco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hilario Sagrario having to interfere.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marcial Peruanton stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Anier Acuña showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcial Peruanton in the 59th minute of the match. Julian Oihenartes short, quick shot in the 68thth minute got Anier Acuña to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Julian Oihenarte sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 73rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Libertad's goalkeeper Anier Acuña, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 76th match minute, Libertad was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sixto Brun to maneuver through the defense. Leopoldo Enol was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 83rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Libertad fans cheered their team off the field, for while Sarmiento AFC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
