Florencio Pueblo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Geronimo Ofelio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Florencio Pueblo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Club Sportivo Maipú booed when Santillán was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rigoberto Quirce didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Santillán's Bernardo Godoy got a free kick in the 20th minute. Geronimo Ofelio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Delmar Abel ran back to his position shaking his head. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Serafino Lobo in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Florencio Pueblo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Silverio Martinez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Florencio Pueblo having to interfere. When Geronimo Ofelio came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the Club Sportivo Maipú fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Geronimo Ofelio couldn't finish the play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Serafino Lobo made a kick off. If Serafino Lobo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Geronimo Ofelio struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Florencio Pueblo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Sportivo Maipú. 64 minutes in the game, Freddy Fertus fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Florencio Pueblo having to interfere. Geronimo Ofelio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Florencio Pueblo made a huge save. Serafino Lobo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 69 played minutes Santillán got a freekick which was hit by Rigoberto Quirce. 74 minutes into the game, Delmar Abel cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Fausto Haitz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 79 minutes into the match, Club Sportivo Maipú's goal looked a bit too open when Jeremias Giro came free, but Fausto Haitz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Delmar Abel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 84 played minutes Santillán got a freekick which was hit by Vinicio Oxarra. When the match had gone on for 90 minutes, Serafino Lobo took a quick shot and it went in 1-4 without a chance for Florencio Pueblo to make any attempt to save it. Florencio Pueblo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Serafino Lobo in the 94th minute of play. If Geronimo Ofelio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
