With a little luck, Palavecino's Victoriano Clis got control of the ball when Paolo Nabar tried to sneak it across the goal line. Victoriano Clis made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Paolo Nabar sent off a good shot on target. Victoriano Clis was a little too slow when Romeo Perfecto got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 18th minute. The score was now 1-1. 22 minutes into the match, Villa Alem de Tucuman's goal looked a bit too open when Gilberto Matia came free, but Primitivo Celino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Paolo Nabar got free with Victoriano Clis in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 25 played minutes, Villa Alem de Tucuman's Mauricio Admon shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Victoriano Clis came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Villa Alem de Tucuman reached it. When Faustino Sabin fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Palavecino's protests and gave Faustino Sabin a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Palavecino getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Faustino Sabin hit a great ball. Primitivo Celino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristo Peio in the 41st minute of the match. In the 44th minute, Villa Alem de Tucuman's Romeo Perfecto dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cristo Peio to strike the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes into the match, Palavecino's goal looked a bit too open when Mauricio Locaio came free, but Victoriano Clis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 58th minute, Paolo Nabar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Mauricio Locaio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mauricio Locaio in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Victoriano Clis saved Palavecino from getting behind. If Mauricio Locaio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Paolo Nabar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 78 minutes into the match, Palavecino's Gilberto Matia sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Primitivo Celino narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Mauricio Locaio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Victoriano Clis was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. Paolo Nabar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Victoriano Clis having to interfere. With a little luck, Villa Alem de Tucuman's Primitivo Celino got control of the ball when Gilberto Matia tried to sneak it across the goal line. Palavecino's Victoriano Clis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Romeo Perfecto in the 88th minute of play. Victoriano Clis came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by Villa Alem de Tucuman's Mauricio Locaio. But to his dismay, Mauricio Locaio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-1.
