An unexpectedly hard shot by Ruperto Frances in the 47th minute of play forced Mercedes AFC's goalkeeper Francisco Iratze to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Anastasio Gregory sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Daniel Azevedo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Severino Guilabertus's shot from short distance in the 93rd minute. After a rather tough play, Hazzard's Raul Txatxu got a free kick in the 95th minute. When Urbano Mambru fell near the penalty area in the 97th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hazzard's protests and gave Urbano Mambru a yellow card for diving instead. Hazzard's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
