Segundo Erdiano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Mean Machine's Fernan Guipuzkoa got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Mariano Sergi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Segundo Erdiano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. Israel Aztore struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Norberto Arnalt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mean Machine. If Israel Aztore had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half C.A .Boca juniors were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gregorio Bidari made a kick off. Norberto Arnalt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Israel Aztore, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Mariano Sergi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. C.A .Boca juniors's Christian Patrido suffered a sore foot after 86 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Joaquin Dayam's late challenge caught a C.A .Boca juniors's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Israel Aztore in the 96th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Norberto Arnalt saved C.A .Boca juniors from getting behind. With a little luck, Mean Machine's Segundo Erdiano got control of the ball when Mariano Sergi tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 98th minute Gregorio Bidari shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Norberto Arnalt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
