Arsenio Brun who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 14thth minute tested the skills of Silvio Resto when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Ricardo Hernando managed to get in a good position for a shot. UNION ROSARIO's supporters rose to their feet, but Ricardo Hernando was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Orlando Francis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Fontana getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Oscar Cordeiro hit a great ball. With his leg Silvio Resto managed to avoid a goal in the 29thth minute, when Fontana's Arsenio Brun fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Donato Munio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silvio Resto having to interfere. Orlando Francis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Constantino Boni, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dante Clis charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dante Clis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 44th match minute, UNION ROSARIO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dante Clis to maneuver through the defense. The Fontana fans' excitement grew in the 46th match minute when Fontana's Arsenio Brun looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. Pedro Geleberto's late challenge caught a UNION ROSARIO's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
