In the 22nd minute Arsenio Fernendo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgard Aguirre saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 24 minutes, Manuel Quinton mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the San Martín de Wilde and the Larrea players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 24th minute, one of San Martín de Wilde:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for San Martín de Wilde. The referee gave Larrea a penalty, 25 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Evelio Venceslao, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of San Martín de Wilde's Edgard Aguirre. 0-1. The audience was convinced that Arnaldo Birjaio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Edgard Aguirre was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Anier Orzaize fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored San Martín de Wilde's protests and gave Anier Orzaize a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, San Martín de Wilde's Anier Orzaize got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Anastasio Vidal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hipolito Montrelle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
