The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Jimeno Lander had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Melquiades Caitano during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Mastropiero FC booed when Urutaú was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Melquiades Caitano didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Urutaú's zone, Jimeno Lander stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Angelo Cutberto came out of the goal and Jimeno Lander tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Luciano Tabby's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Godfredo Jayvier was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Melquiades Caitano in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Godfredo Jayvier prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Godfredo Jayvier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luciano Tabby in the 27th minute of play. Godfredo Jayvier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Melquiades Caitano, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Anselmo Beremundo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Angelo Cutberto having to interfere. After 36 played minutes, Mastropiero FC's Ramon Firmin shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Angelo Cutberto came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Mastropiero FC reached it. The supporters of Mastropiero FC booed when Urutaú was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Prospero Elia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Anselmo Beremundo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 47 minutes into the match, Urutaú's Melquiades Caitano broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Angelo Cutberto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jimeno Lander in the 53rd minute of play. 54 minutes into the match, Urutaú's goal looked a bit too open when Anselmo Beremundo came free, but Angelo Cutberto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 55 played minutes Urutaú got a freekick which was hit by Prospero Elia. Anselmo Beremundo took the ball and in the 57 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Angelo Cutberto. Angelo Cutberto dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Mastropiero FC's Anselmo Beremundo got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Angelo Cutberto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anselmo Beremundo in the 72nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Melquiades Caitano in the 78th minute of play forced Mastropiero FC's goalkeeper Godfredo Jayvier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 89 played minutes Mastropiero FC got a freekick which was hit by Anselmo Beremundo. Godfredo Jayvier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Melquiades Caitano in the 91st minute of the match. If Luciano Tabby had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luciano Tabby came free with the goalkeeper in the 97th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Godfredo Jayvier could save by the left post. Urutaú's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
