Independiente's Filiberto Dimo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paolo Jaume in the 10th minute of play. In the 11th minute, Eleuterio Euloxu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Filiberto Dimo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elvio Geofredo, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. With his leg Filiberto Dimo managed to avoid a goal in the 17thth minute, when Douglas Haig's Paolo Jaume fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Herminio Elequemedo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Douglas Haig's supporters rose to their feet, but Herminio Elequemedo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Filiberto Dimo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ricardo Hermon hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. The supporters of Independiente booed when Douglas Haig was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Herminio Elequemedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ramon Ibon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Paolo Jaume was extremely unlucky when he, in the 30th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After 32nd play minutes Paolo Jaume shot 2-0, a short shot which went by Filiberto Dimo and just under the crossbar into goal. If Paolo Jaume had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 40 minutes into the game, Paolo Jaume recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Filiberto Dimo. Paolo Jaume showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Paolo Jaume made a kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Paolo Jaume in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Filiberto Dimo saved Independiente from getting behind. Bernabe Llorenc struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Simon Berdoi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Independiente. Agustin Veronica hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. In the 58thth minute of the game Paolo Jaume who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Independiente's Filiberto Dimo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Paolo Jaume managed to get in a good position for a shot. Douglas Haig's supporters rose to their feet, but Paolo Jaume was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Paolo Jaume in the 69th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Filiberto Dimo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Filiberto Dimo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emiliano Rios in the 72nd minute of the match. Paolo Jaume sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Emiliano Rios received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Filiberto Dimo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Emiliano Rios sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 83rd minute, Paolo Jaume made a precise shot to the right of Filiberto Dimo. Independiente's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. The supporters of Douglas Haig booed when Independiente was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gerardo Ramone didn't get a good kick on the ball. 94 minutes into the match, Douglas Haig's goalkeeper Simon Berdoi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ramon Ibon. In the 95th minute, Dolcet Vizcarra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Douglas Haig had played much better football throughout.
