The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Bernabe Martxel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Zeledon Orti managed to get in a good position for a shot. Liniers's supporters rose to their feet, but Zeledon Orti was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Isaias Aurken breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zeledon Orti in the 12th minute of play forced Luna de Avellaneda FC's goalkeeper Isaias Aurken to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hernan Jaunti struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Leopoldo Dimo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Luna de Avellaneda FC. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hipolito Astigar during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 19 played minutes Luna de Avellaneda FC got a freekick which was hit by Hipolito Astigar. Luna de Avellaneda FC's Isaias Aurken played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zeledon Orti in the 23rd minute of play. Leopoldo Dimo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jimeno Venerando went, in the 25th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 30 minutes into the match, Liniers's goal looked a bit too open when Hernan Jaunti came free, but Leopoldo Dimo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 32 minutes into the game, Hernan Jaunti cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Leopoldo Dimo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 37th match minute, Luna de Avellaneda FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Filomeno Nuno to maneuver through the defense. In the 39th minute Hernan Jaunti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leopoldo Dimo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Liniers's Leopoldo Dimo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hernan Jaunti in the 42nd minute of play. Luciano Evarado hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. If Jimeno Venerando had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Melquiades Ihazintu charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Melquiades Ihazintu the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 47 played minutes Liniers got a freekick which was hit by Melquiades Ihazintu. After the first half Luna de Avellaneda FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Jimeno Venerando made the kick off in the second half. If Jimeno Venerando had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hernan Jaunti could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Leopoldo Dimo made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Luna de Avellaneda FC's Artemio Tipi got a free kick in the 61st minute. In a very dangerous position, a player in Luna de Avellaneda FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 62nd minute. Penalty! Pascual Ferrando placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Isaias Aurken showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zeledon Orti in the 66th minute of the match. When Luna de Avellaneda FC's Jimeno Venerando in the 69th minute got a chance for a shot 69th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Liniers's goalie prevented a goal. Liniers's Leopoldo Dimo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jimeno Venerando in the 71st minute of play. Hernan Jaunti fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leopoldo Dimo having to interfere. Hernan Jaunti recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 87 minutes into the game, Marcelino Demesio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Liniers's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Luna de Avellaneda FC the free kick. After 87 played minutes Liniers got a freekick which was hit by Marcelino Demesio. 88 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Luna de Avellaneda FC's Hernan Jaunti fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Leopoldo Dimo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jimeno Venerando in the 92nd minute of play. Leopoldo Dimo made a fantastic save in the 98th minute, when Hernan Jaunti sent off a good shot on target. Zeledon Orti blasted a shot towards the goal in the 99th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Isaias Aurken having to make a save. When the final whistle sounded Luna de Avellaneda FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Liniers.
