This resulted in a 1-1 score and a disappointed Teofilo Huly as he didn't even see the shot coming. After a defensive mix-up in Club Atletico River Plate's zone, Gilberto Perutxo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Teofilo Huly came out of the goal and Gilberto Perutxo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Jorge Maiorga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gilberto Perutxo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Teofilo Huly having to make a save. Prudencio Manuelo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jorge Maiorga, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute.
