If Efrain Mikelar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 19 minutes into the match, Sunderland A.F.C.'s goalkeeper Rogelio Maju had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Julian Oliverios. Julian Oliverios might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rogelio Maju. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Julian Oliverios ran back to his position shaking his head. Rogelio Maju made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Efrain Mikelar in the 23rd minute of play. In the 25th minute, Tomás Tome hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silvestre Jorrin in the 27th minute of play forced Ánimas's goalkeeper Guillermo Pedroso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Julian Oliverios had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julian Oliverios in the 42ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Rogelio Maju, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Ánimas's Guillermo Pedroso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alejo Nalo in the 44th minute of play. 46 minutes into the match, Ánimas's goal looked a bit too open when Silvestre Jorrin came free, but Guillermo Pedroso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Efrain Mikelar to make the kick off. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rogelio Maju prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of Ánimas booed when Sunderland A.F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gaudencio Jaunzuria didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpected shot in the 88th minute by Silvestre Jorrin got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Guillermo Pedroso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Silvestre Jorrin in the 90th minute of the match. With a little luck, Ánimas's Guillermo Pedroso got control of the ball when Alejo Nalo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Aureliano Gelmiro hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Sunderland A.F.C.'s players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
