In the 40th minute, Marcelino Elia fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Benigno Ibar, passed just outside the right post. If Haroldo Indartsu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Abel Umea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eugenio Mannuel having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Haroldo Indartsu hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Feliberto Padro during the 79th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Ceibas booed when La Consolata 2001 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position.
