Spectators: 7323 (Terracing: 5494, Seating: 1684, VIP seats: 145) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Daniel Theobald kicked off to start the match. Alejo Nalo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Lino Flores made a huge save. The supporters of Sunderland A.F.C. booed when Curapaligüé was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabricio Berenguer didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 32 played minutes Curapaligüé got a freekick which was hit by Hugo Lopes. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Silvestre Jorrin in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lino Flores prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 36 minutes of play, Curapaligüé's Daniel Theobald made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rogelio Maju was left in no man's land by his defense there! Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alejo Nalo to make the kick off. Lino Flores showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Silvestre Jorrin, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. In the 59th minute, Daniel Theobald hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 62 minutes into the game, Dante Artal cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Rogelio Maju was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience thought a goal was coming when Constantino Tolino got free with Rogelio Maju in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 73rd minute Silvestre Jorrin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lino Flores saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sunderland A.F.C.'s attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Nemesio Rufio in the 75th minute. A nice corner shot did that Nemesio Rufio got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Lino Flores quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. German Sabino was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 88 minutes into the match. A collision led to Curapaligüé getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. German Sabino hit a great ball. After 93 played minutes Curapaligüé got a freekick which was hit by Dante Artal. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Sunderland A.F.C. lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
