Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rogelio Maju was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Niceto Alonso showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 11 minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Silvestre Jorrin in the 19th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Santos Osasun prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Niceto Alonso kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Silvestre Jorrin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Santos Osasun having to interfere. Sunderland A.F.C.'s Silvestre Jorrin got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 31 minutes into the match, Silvestre Jorrin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Santos Osasun. LOS TOTOS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Silvestre Jorrin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Santos Osasun made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silvestre Jorrin in the 36th minute of play. Silvestre Jorrin took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Santos Osasun. Santos Osasun dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. After 41 minutes, Hipolito Mateo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the LOS TOTOS and the Sunderland A.F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. Nemesio Rufio took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 42nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Santos Osasun. LOS TOTOS's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Gerardo Abalos who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 46thth minute tested the skills of Rogelio Maju when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

LOS TOTOS's Santos Osasun proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save LOS TOTOS from getting a goal against them. Alejo Nalo in the 56thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Santos Osasun, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The audience was convinced that Silvestre Jorrin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Santos Osasun was relentless in the 57th minute of the game. If Silvestre Jorrin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alejo Nalo had several of the LOS TOTOS's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 61 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-3 score and a disappointed Santos Osasun as he didn't even see the shot coming. Alejo Nalo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Santos Osasun made a huge save. In the 69th minute, Alejo Nalo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 71stth minute of the game Alejo Nalo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but LOS TOTOS's Santos Osasun was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 73rd minute, Silvestre Jorrin fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Santos Osasun, passed just outside the right post. When the match clock showed 73 minutes, the score became 1-4 when Alejo Nalo sped through LOS TOTOS's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Santos Osasun. The audience was convinced that Niceto Alonso's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rogelio Maju was relentless in the 79th minute of the game. The Sunderland A.F.C. fans' excitement grew in the 85th match minute when Sunderland A.F.C.'s Alejo Nalo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-5 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Silvestre Jorrin was extremely unlucky when he, in the 93rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Through an outstanding action, after 96 minutes, Santos Osasun successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. When the final whistle sounded Sunderland A.F.C. left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than LOS TOTOS.
