LOS TOTOS's Niceto Alonso got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Isaac Udalaitz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Santos Osasun tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to LOS TOTOS getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Orlando Fix hit a great ball. In the 17th minute of the game, Justino Bazkoare landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. 17 minutes into the game, Emiliano Oriche was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. LOS TOTOS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Iruya the free kick. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Honorato Fidencio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
