The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Camilo Dabi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Santos Osasun having to interfere. If Gerardo Abalos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Desiderio Osmundo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Niceto Alonso, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. 16 minutes into the match, Ranquile FC's goalkeeper Desiderio Osmundo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gerardo Abalos. LOS TOTOS's Santos Osasun played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anier Ticho in the 19th minute of play. Bernardino Rosio's late challenge caught a Ranquile FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bernardino Rosio helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, LOS TOTOS's Bernardino Rosio got a free kick in the 21st minute. In the 22nd minute of the match Generoso Iliana sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Santos Osasun skillfully saved the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ovidio Corderro in the 23rd minute of play forced LOS TOTOS's goalkeeper Santos Osasun to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Santos Osasun showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teobaldo Vedillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Ovidio Corderro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ranquile FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ovidio Corderro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Santos Osasun breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gerardo Abalos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Desiderio Osmundo made a huge save. With an all-out effort, LOS TOTOS's Desiderio Osmundo threw himself towards the right post 44 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Niceto Alonso, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ovidio Corderro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Anier Ticho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Santos Osasun having to interfere. LOS TOTOS's Santos Osasun proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save LOS TOTOS from getting a goal against them. Gerardo Abalos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Desiderio Osmundo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. After a rather tough play, LOS TOTOS's Hipolito Mateo got a free kick in the 60th minute. Santos Osasun took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ovidio Corderro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Santos Osasun stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ovidio Corderro's shot from short distance in the 65th minute. Gerardo Abalos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Niceto Alonso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Desiderio Osmundo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After recieving a nice pass, LOS TOTOS's Fernando Selmo tried to score from far away in the 91st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Ovidio Corderro was extremely unlucky when he, in the 95th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Anier Ticho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Santos Osasun having to make a save. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
