LOS TOTOS's supporters rose to their feet, but Niceto Alonso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cornelio Quirce breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Faustino Constancio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Santos Osasun made a huge save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Victorino Tiadoro during the 23rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 23rd match minute, Colo sos de la B was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Victorino Tiadoro to maneuver through the defense. Albino Tancredo helped the player get up and apologised. After 39 played minutes Colo sos de la B got a freekick which was hit by Albino Tancredo. Niceto Alonso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Cornelio Quirce tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Santiago Ekain charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Santiago Ekain the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Gerardo Abalos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The supporters of Colo sos de la B booed when LOS TOTOS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hilario Erlantz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Faustino Constancio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Santos Osasun having to interfere.
