After 17 minutes of play, Mervaleta's Leo Tiadoro made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Guaberto Ioritz was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jesus Dodorol fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valentin Chus having to interfere. After 24 played minutes Luján FC got a freekick which was hit by Leopoldo Pelayo. Leopoldo Pelayo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Jesus Dodorol had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gavino Bermudez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Guaberto Ioritz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gavino Bermudez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guaberto Ioritz having to interfere. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gavino Bermudez was the one to do the kick off. After some careless play in the Luján FC defense, Gavino Bermudez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Guaberto Ioritz. The Luján FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Guaberto Ioritz should have stopped the shot. Jesus Dodorol was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 60th minute. Luján FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. When Leopoldo Pelayo fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Luján FC's protests and gave Leopoldo Pelayo a yellow card for diving instead. In the 62nd match minute, Luján FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leopoldo Pelayo to maneuver through the defense. Leo Tiadoro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Guaberto Ioritz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Valentin Chus made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leopoldo Pelayo in the 74th minute of play. Leopoldo Pelayo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Luján FC's Omar Xabat got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Norberto Lehior fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guaberto Ioritz having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Luján FC's zone, Gavino Bermudez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Guaberto Ioritz came out of the goal and Gavino Bermudez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 89 played minutes Luján FC got a freekick which was hit by Denis Tauro. Guaberto Ioritz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gavino Bermudez in the 95th minute of the match. In the 96th match minute, Mervaleta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guido Aguilera to maneuver through the defense. Leopoldo Pelayo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Valentin Chus tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mervaleta's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
