Spectators: 7262 (Terracing: 5448, Seating: 1670, VIP seats: 144) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Americo Sanson kicked off to start the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alonzo Vimaro in the 4th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eugenio Abeita saved Cholila from getting behind. Alonzo Vimaro struck a weak shot in the 6th minute. Eugenio Abeita didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Independiente. 9 minutes into the match, Alonzo Vimaro notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Cholila's Eugenio Abeita. Eugenio Abeita was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Independiente getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Candido Suero hit a great ball. In the 14th minute, Arturo Tadzio sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Independiente's Leonides Iraunkor didn't even have to move. Delmiro Elixio's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 17thth minute, Leonides Iraunkor skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After having played for 28 minutes, Americo Sanson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cholila's supporters crossed their fingers, but Americo Sanson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Leonides Iraunkor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Americo Sanson in the 31st minute of play. 36 minutes into the match, Delmiro Elixio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Leonides Iraunkor. Independiente's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Delmiro Elixio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Eugenio Abeita came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by Independiente's Alonzo Vimaro. But to his dismay, Alonzo Vimaro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

After a defensive mix-up in Independiente's zone, Delmiro Elixio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leonides Iraunkor came out of the goal and Delmiro Elixio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alonzo Vimaro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 59th minute, Natalio Santikurtz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alonzo Vimaro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eugenio Abeita having to interfere. After 64 played minutes Cholila got a freekick which was hit by Ceferino Urbasa. Alonzo Vimaro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Eugenio Abeita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Delmiro Elixio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leonides Iraunkor having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Americo Sanson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leonides Iraunkor was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. Octavio Salvidor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eugenio Abeita having to interfere. In the 84th minute of the match, Octavio Salvidor got a very nice opportunity to score, but Eugenio Abeita was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Americo Sanson in the 88th minute of play forced Independiente's goalkeeper Leonides Iraunkor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Alonzo Vimaro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Independiente walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
