Boca Juniors's Armando Eder got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 14 minutes into the match, CLUB ATLETICO NEYMAR's goal looked a bit too open when Armando Eder came free, but Herminio Francho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The long shot by Denis Urtungo in the 18th minute really tested Herminio Francho's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. CLUB ATLETICO NEYMAR:s Herminio Francho showed great skill when he stopped Andres Oinatz:s penalty. Boca Juniors's Leslie Thebe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnoldo Frasco in the 27th minute of play. After some careless play in the C. A. Boca Juniors defense, Arnoldo Frasco kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Leslie Thebe. The C. A. Boca Juniors fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Leslie Thebe should have stopped the shot. 33 minutes into the match, CLUB ATLETICO NEYMAR's goalkeeper Herminio Francho had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Denis Urtungo. Armando Eder fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Herminio Francho having to interfere. If Denis Urtungo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leslie Thebe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cecilio Tristan in the 45th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Tomas Ciceron's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leslie Thebe was relentless in the 47th minute of the game. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
