The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Sacachispas F.C.'s Constantino Maurin got a free kick in the 2nd minute. If Teobaldo Pacho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Guillermo Urtsin during the 6th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Guillermo Urtsin kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. Silvio Cayo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Angel Elodio's shot from short distance in the 7th minute. Angel Elodio struck a weak shot in the 8th minute. Silvio Cayo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Real Betis Balompié. After 9 played minutes Sacachispas F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Teobaldo Ganix. Silvio Cayo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teobaldo Pacho, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. If Joel Benitez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Angel Elodio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Real Betis Balompié's supporters rose to their feet, but Angel Elodio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Silvio Cayo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 23 minutes of play Sacachispas F.C.'s Guillermo Urtsin was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 24th match minute, Sacachispas F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guillermo Urtsin to maneuver through the defense. If Teobaldo Pacho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joel Benitez made a kick off. After 51 played minutes Real Betis Balompié got a freekick which was hit by Hipolito Beremundo. In the 55th minute Teobaldo Pacho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silvio Cayo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Angel Elodio might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Silvio Cayo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Angel Elodio ran back to his position shaking his head. Angel Elodio blasted a shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Silvio Cayo having to make a save. In the 64th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sacachispas F.C.'s goalkeeper Silvio Cayo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Sacachispas F.C. getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Fabio Urtun hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teobaldo Pacho in the 71st minute of play forced Sacachispas F.C.'s goalkeeper Silvio Cayo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Angel Elodio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Angel Elodio who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 77thth minute tested the skills of Silvio Cayo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Teobaldo Pacho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Silvio Cayo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Silvio Cayo made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Angel Elodio sent off a good shot on target. In the 84th minute, Real Betis Balompié's Emiliano Sayvion ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Silvio Cayo. Silvio Cayo yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. Patricio Flor charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Patricio Flor the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Sacachispas F.C. getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Patricio Flor hit a great ball. If Teobaldo Pacho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Sacachispas F.C. fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Real Betis Balompié were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
