After the first half Estudiantes de Caseros were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Danilo Arias stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ciro Rolado took the ball and in the 54 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Delmar Pepillo. Delmar Pepillo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Ciro Rolado managed to get in a good position for a shot. Estudiantes de Caseros's supporters rose to their feet, but Ciro Rolado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Delmar Pepillo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 63rd minute, one of lanena:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for lanena. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ciro Rolado got free with Delmar Pepillo in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Norberto Domenec struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Delmar Pepillo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Estudiantes de Caseros. Delmar Pepillo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Norberto Domenec in the 75th minute of play. After having played for 78 minutes, Norberto Domenec managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Estudiantes de Caseros's supporters crossed their fingers, but Norberto Domenec was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
