But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Angel Peruanton couldn't finish the play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

After a defensive mix-up in Troncos Athletic's zone, Urbano Caton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Erubiel Florian came out of the goal and Urbano Caton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Troncos Athletic's Angel Peruanton in the 54th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Anastasio Liher was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Fighiera through an amazing save. After some careless play in the Troncos Athletic defense, Urbano Caton kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Erubiel Florian. The Troncos Athletic fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Erubiel Florian should have stopped the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gilberto Cordarrell got free with Anastasio Liher in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bartolo Ermengol's late challenge caught a Troncos Athletic's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bartolo Ermengol helped the player get up and apologised. Bartolo Ermengol kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match.
