The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hugo Modestio helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Newton's Hugo Modestio got a free kick in the 4th minute. Raul Gil recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Raul Gil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gilberto Egoi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arnoldo Maurino hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Balticos Athletic Club's Basilio Neto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Balticos Athletic Club from getting a goal against them. Simon Kauldi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Simon Kauldi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 37 minutes into the game, Higinio Gora was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Balticos Athletic Club's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Newton the free kick. After a rather tough play, Balticos Athletic Club's Higinio Gora got a free kick in the 37th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Balticos Athletic Club's zone, Gilberto Egoi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Basilio Neto came out of the goal and Gilberto Egoi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Simon Kauldi came free with the goalkeeper in the 44th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Basilio Neto could save by the left post. Raul Gil might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cristian Alvarez. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Raul Gil ran back to his position shaking his head.
The wind increased when Gilberto Egoi made the kick off in the second half. Cristian Alvarez didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Raul Gil went, in the 57th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. The supporters of Balticos Athletic Club booed when Newton was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anier Magdaleno didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 62 played minutes, Balticos Athletic Club's Marciano Demesio shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Cristian Alvarez came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Balticos Athletic Club reached it. Guillermo Ferrando blasted a shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cristian Alvarez having to make a save. Raul Gil struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Cristian Alvarez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Balticos Athletic Club. After having played for 69 minutes, Guillermo Ferrando managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Balticos Athletic Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Guillermo Ferrando was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Raul Gil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 72nd minute, Benjamin Ariando hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 73rd minute Guillermo Ferrando shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristian Alvarez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Placido Guerrero hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Cristian Alvarez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guillermo Ferrando, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Gilberto Egoi took the ball and in the 77 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Basilio Neto. Basilio Neto dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Cristian Alvarez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Guillermo Ferrando in the 80th minute of the match. If Simon Kauldi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Guillermo Ferrando fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristian Alvarez having to interfere. 87 minutes into the game, Arnoldo Maurino was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Balticos Athletic Club's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Newton the free kick. After 87 played minutes Balticos Athletic Club got a freekick which was hit by Arnoldo Maurino. Raul Gil received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Cristian Alvarez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Guillermo Ferrando in the 94th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cristian Alvarez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cristian Alvarez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guillermo Ferrando, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
