Fabricio Weather made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 16thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Cristian Alvarez would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. 17 minutes into the match, Newton's goal looked a bit too open when Felipe Ramone came free, but Cristian Alvarez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Glinchester FC's Fabricio Weather got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Marciano Onbera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilberto Egoi in the 22nd minute of the match. Glinchester FC's Fabricio Weather got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 38th match minute, Glinchester FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristobal Larpe to maneuver through the defense. Cristian Alvarez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felipe Ramone, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Fabricio Weather managed to get in a good position for a shot. Glinchester FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Fabricio Weather was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cristian Alvarez breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Baldomiro Salbatore received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Cristian Alvarez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Cristobal Larpe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Baldomiro Salbatore sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Newton's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Baldomiro Salbatore was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Despite being the better team, Glinchester FC failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
