If Everardo Mano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sergio Cordarin made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Everardo Mano sent off a good shot on target. The audience was convinced that Everardo Mano's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sergio Cordarin was relentless in the 41st minute of the game. Vinicio Vidal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sergio Cordarin having to interfere. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ciénaga's goalkeeper Sergio Cordarin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Ciénaga booed when Alicante FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Everardo Mano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Melchor Tiniebra who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 55thth minute tested the skills of Gregorio Menendo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Alicante FC's Gregorio Menendo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mauro Oier in the 58th minute of play. Ramon Suarez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Gregorio Menendo made a huge save. Everardo Mano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Everardo Mano's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sergio Cordarin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. Vinicio Vidal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Sergio Cordarin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alfonso Lia might have been able to make a better finish in the 70th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sergio Cordarin. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alfonso Lia ran back to his position shaking his head. After a rather tough play, Ciénaga's Marcelo Abalos got a free kick in the 72nd minute. A collision led to Alicante FC getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Prudencio Gorri hit a great ball. Ciénaga's Guido Vincente shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 76th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Gregorio Menendo but with some difficulty. Ramon Suarez kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Everardo Mano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 83rd match minute, Alicante FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fernando Igon to maneuver through the defense. Gregorio Menendo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mauro Oier in the 84th minute of the match. In the 85th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ciénaga's goalkeeper Sergio Cordarin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Vinicio Vidal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 87 played minutes Ciénaga got a freekick which was hit by Marcelo Abalos. Paulino Buinton kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Everardo Mano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Alicante FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Everardo Mano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
