In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind Tatay FC's goalkeeper Lorenzo Oalo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Alfredo Urtzi's late challenge caught a Tatay FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alfredo Urtzi helped the player get up and apologised. Alfredo Urtzi kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. In the 26th minute, Maximo Calixto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Esperanza FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. When Amador Ixona fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Esperanza FC's protests and gave Amador Ixona a yellow card for diving instead. After the first half Esperanza FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Erasmo Jayvier stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
