Toro's goal looked a bit too open when Froilan Casado came free, but Natalio Iago reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Froilan Casado managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lileo's supporters rose to their feet, but Froilan Casado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Natalio Iago breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Raul Socorro got free with Sergio Paez in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 24th minute Froilan Casado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Natalio Iago saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benjamin Jurdan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Natalio Iago having to interfere. If Froilan Casado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in C.A. Toro's zone, Benjamin Jurdan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Natalio Iago came out of the goal and Benjamin Jurdan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Benjamin Jurdan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Natalio Iago was relentless in the 45th minute of the game. Lileo's Froilan Casado got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Benito Gabon made a kick off. Natalio Iago made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Froilan Casado in the 50th minute of play. If Jeronimo Evarado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute.
