When David Edwardo fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Napoleón's protests and gave David Edwardo a yellow card for diving instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 2nd minute of the game. One of Napoleón:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Burmeister FC:s goal. Teo Arias walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Marcial Clemencin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo Gaitano in the 8th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Napoleón's Zeledon Gagriel got a free kick in the 11th minute. 1-0 became the score in the 23rd minute when Julio Ermano elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. A collision led to Burmeister FC getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Faustino Gutierrez hit a great ball. Marcial Clemencin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rolando Rosario, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The attack was good, but when Rolando Rosario in the 35th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. 37 minutes into the match, Patricio Montez had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marcial Tonete. Napoleón's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Patricio Montez was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. In the 40th minute, Julio Ermano left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Burmeister FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Rolando Rosario recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eusebio Lugo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Maximino Maxin to strike the kick off in the second half. Marcial Clemencin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rolando Rosario, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Rolando Rosario managed to get in a good position for a shot. Napoleón's supporters rose to their feet, but Rolando Rosario was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcial Clemencin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Napoleón's Marcial Tonete played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rosendo Ayala in the 60th minute of play. Faustino Gutierrez took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 71st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Marcial Tonete. Napoleón's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Salvador Leizarraga struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Marcial Clemencin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Napoleón. Rolando Rosario could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Marcial Clemencin made a huge save. With a little luck, Burmeister FC's Marcial Clemencin got control of the ball when Rolando Rosario tried to sneak it across the goal line. Napoleón were awarded a corner in the 82th minute after Burmeister FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Honorato Bibiano took the corner. The corner led Napoleón's Honorato Bibiano to fire away a dangerous shot which Marcial Clemencin despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Eusebio Lugo struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Marcial Clemencin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Napoleón. Rolando Rosario took the ball and in the 90 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marcial Clemencin. Marcial Clemencin dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. Rolando Rosario's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Marcial Clemencin firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 96th match minute, Burmeister FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rosendo Ayala to maneuver through the defense. Burmeister FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
