Rosendo Laurendi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nemesio Haitz having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rosendo Laurendi in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nemesio Haitz saved Caribbean Club from getting behind. 24 minutes into the game, Fernando Aires cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Nemesio Haitz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Through an outstanding action, after 33 minutes, Fidel Birila successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Fidel Birila was out of position in the 45 minute of play, and Narciso Inocente capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Narciso Inocente really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. Narciso Inocente struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Fidel Birila didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Caribbean Club. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Nemesio Haitz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rosendo Laurendi, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Alvaro Harri was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 54 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Rosendo Laurendi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Portugal Deportivo's supporters rose to their feet, but Rosendo Laurendi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fidel Birila made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Bermudez in the 76th minute of play. Luis Bermudez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Fidel Birila tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cleto Ferrando fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fidel Birila having to interfere. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luis Bermudez couldn't finish the play. Portugal Deportivo's supporters rose to their feet, but Fernando Aires was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
