In the 3rd minute Astor Fraco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Cortez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Faro's Pedro Cortez got control of the ball when Paulo Cayo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Paulo Cayo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Astor Fraco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 25 minutes into the match, Faro's goal looked a bit too open when Astor Fraco came free, but Pedro Cortez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 25 played minutes Faro got a freekick which was hit by Ulises Eneto. Los Piuquenes FC's Astor Fraco got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Justo Regis's late challenge caught a Faro's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Justo Regis helped the player get up and apologised. Justo Regis hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. If Santo Licerio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Faro's Santo Licerio in the 33rd minute got a chance for a shot 33rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Los Piuquenes FC's goalie prevented a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Faro's zone, Astor Fraco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro Cortez came out of the goal and Astor Fraco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Los Piuquenes FC's Paulo Cayo got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Faro's zone, Paulo Cayo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro Cortez came out of the goal and Paulo Cayo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Santo Licerio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Lino Beturian tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Astor Fraco to make the kick off. In the 57th minute Everardo Arixo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lino Beturian saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 60 minutes into the match, Los Piuquenes FC's Astor Fraco sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Pedro Cortez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Los Piuquenes FC's Astor Fraco managed to work through Faro's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Astor Fraco dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Pedro Cortez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo Cayo in the 69th minute of play. Pedro Cortez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Astor Fraco, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. 72 minutes into the game, Los Piuquenes FC's Astor Fraco nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pedro Cortez made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. In the 77th minute the ball was on its way in behind Faro's goalkeeper Pedro Cortez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Los Piuquenes FC's Paulo Cayo in the 80th minute got a chance for a shot 80th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Faro's goalie prevented a goal. After 84 minutes, Paulo Cayo made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Faro's Pedro Cortez tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When Juan Diaz fell near the penalty area in the 88th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Faro's protests and gave Juan Diaz a yellow card for diving instead. Juan Diaz hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Paulo Cayo struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Pedro Cortez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Los Piuquenes FC. Los Piuquenes FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
