After recieving a nice pass, Club Atlético de Madrid's Benicio Sugoi tried to score from far away in the 28th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Correa AFC's Godofredo Ponciano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Melchor Hustaz in the 31st minute of play. Santiago Blanco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Silverio Venceslao in the 42nd minute of the match. Melchor Hustaz struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Godofredo Ponciano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Atlético de Madrid. 50 minutes into the match, Club Atlético de Madrid's Melchor Hustaz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Godofredo Ponciano narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
