Estopa FC's Cesar Orlin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Melchor Hustaz in the 21st minute of play. In the 39th minute Melchor Hustaz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cesar Orlin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 43 minutes into the game, Higinio Berriotxoa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Estopa FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Club Atlético de Madrid the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 43rd minute of the game. One of Estopa FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Club Atlético de Madrid:s goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Melchor Hustaz made a kick off. Marcelino Jaume sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Melchor Hustaz in the 55th minute of play forced Estopa FC's goalkeeper Cesar Orlin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Niceto Eneas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Melchor Hustaz in the 87th minute of play forced Estopa FC's goalkeeper Cesar Orlin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Estopa FC's Cesar Orlin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save Estopa FC from getting a goal against them. 91 minutes into the match, Estopa FC's goal looked a bit too open when Melchor Hustaz came free, but Cesar Orlin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Club Atlético de Madrid's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
