The long shot by Everardo Pasqual in the 25th minute really tested Diego Bertran's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Victorino Ixidor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Omar Qwinton in the 26th minute of play. Adan Guillelmo was extremely unlucky when he, in the 29th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 35thth minute of the game Adan Guillelmo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Butacó's Diego Bertran was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Domingos Lugo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diego Bertran having to interfere. Placido Navarro kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 49th minute, Domingos Lugo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chaqueño's supporters rose to their feet, but Domingos Lugo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Diego Bertran breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Omar Qwinton was the one to do the kick off. In the 56th minute, Roberto Elixio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Domingos Lugo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adan Guillelmo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diego Bertran having to interfere. After 86 played minutes Butacó got a freekick which was hit by Joel Nerio. In the 89th minute Adan Guillelmo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diego Bertran saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Domingos Lugo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 97 minutes into the game, Adan Guillelmo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Chaqueño's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Butacó the free kick. After 97 played minutes Chaqueño got a freekick which was hit by Adan Guillelmo.
