In the 40th minute, Rafael Harriet reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Jairo Gabrio. The goal made the score 2-0. Jairo Gabrio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juan Weather, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. 46 minutes into the game, Oscar Jayvier was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. River Plate's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave CA San Lorenzo de Almagro the free kick. Oscar Jayvier hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Benedicto Etxahun got free with Victor Chayo in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jairo Gabrio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rafael Harriet in the 97th minute of the match. River Plate's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
