To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Arnaldo Fernandes got free with Tomás Naelio in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 29th minute, Teofilo Chico hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to C. S y D. Los Muchachos getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Alvaro Lauaxeta hit a great ball. Tomás Naelio was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Jimeno Arce. In the 43rd minute of the match Jimeno Arce shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tomás Naelio showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, C. S y D. Los Muchachos's Florencio Gudesteo got a free kick in the 47th minute. In the 48th minute, Jimeno Arce sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and C. S y D. Los Muchachos's Tomás Naelio didn't even have to move.

Armando Baumer struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Armando Fidensio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for C. S y D. Los Muchachos. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Ismael Escobar managed to get in a good position for a shot. SV Werder Bremen's supporters rose to their feet, but Ismael Escobar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tomás Naelio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 58 minutes, Teofilo Chico managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SV Werder Bremen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Teofilo Chico was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 63 minutes into the match, C. S y D. Los Muchachos's goal looked a bit too open when Teofilo Chico came free, but Tomás Naelio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Armando Fidensio didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 65th minute, which inside left pole to 0-1. After a rather tough play, SV Werder Bremen's Ismael Escobar got a free kick in the 74th minute. Arnaldo Fernandes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Armando Baumer in the 80thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Armando Fidensio, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Teofilo Chico recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ismael Escobar kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Armando Baumer managed to get in a good position for a shot. C. S y D. Los Muchachos's supporters rose to their feet, but Armando Baumer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tomás Naelio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ismael Escobar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The C. S y D. Los Muchachos supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing C. S y D. Los Muchachos would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
