The audience was convinced that Leonides Txartiko's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Isaac Duarte was relentless in the 8th minute of the game. Israel Lucian kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Leonides Txartiko stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 60th match minute, Charrua was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benedicto Rufo to maneuver through the defense. After 64 played minutes, Charrua's Pablo Quintan shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Isaac Duarte came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Charrua reached it. 67 minutes into the match, River Plate Bahía Blanca's Carmelo Mundo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mario Napier narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in River Plate Bahía Blanca's zone, Leonides Txartiko stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Isaac Duarte came out of the goal and Leonides Txartiko tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 74th minute, Fernando Enekoitz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Isaac Duarte made a fantastic save in the 77th minute, when Jaime Lleir sent off a good shot on target. River Plate Bahía Blanca's Isaac Duarte proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save River Plate Bahía Blanca from getting a goal against them. A hard shot 81 in the game by Leonides Txartiko from a close distance when the talented Isaac Duarte managed to make a qualified save. River Plate Bahía Blanca's players were relieved. In the last second Isaac Duarte throw himself and got hold of the ball when Leonides Txartiko in the 84thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Marciano Guilabertus received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Mario Napier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benedicto Rufo in the 94th minute of play forced River Plate Bahía Blanca's goalkeeper Isaac Duarte to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
