In the 12th minute, Marcial Abeitia made a precise shot to the right of Evaristo Gustau. Alberdi Jrs.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Ahmet Sedat Ongul showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manuel Aguilera in the 16th minute of the match. 17 minutes into the game, Eduardo Silvanito was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Alberdi Jrs.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Roma the free kick. Chants of Roma echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Alberdi Jrs. had held the ball for most of the match.
