Carabelas's Simon Claris proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save Carabelas from getting a goal against them. Marciano Luken fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Simon Claris having to interfere. A collision led to Carabelas getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Dionisio Gonsalvo hit a great ball. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind Carabelas's goalkeeper Simon Claris, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Alfredo Xabat sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 36th minute, Domingo Aimar ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Simon Claris was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Mariano Aragones received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Norberto Santiago tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 46 minutes into the game, Dionisio Gonsalvo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Carabelas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Melero AFC the free kick. After 46 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Carabelas! Rigoberto Sabino shot the penalty kick right outside the post. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Salvador Weterio might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Norberto Santiago. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Salvador Weterio ran back to his position shaking his head. When Mariano Aragones came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Carabelas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mariano Aragones couldn't finish the play. In the 59th minute Marciano Luken shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Simon Claris saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfredo Xabat in the 63rd minute of play forced Carabelas's goalkeeper Simon Claris to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Atilano Urre during the 65th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 65 played minutes Carabelas got a freekick which was hit by Atilano Urre. When Salvador Weterio came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Carabelas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Salvador Weterio couldn't finish the play. Norberto Santiago showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Salvador Weterio in the 69th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marciano Luken in the 74th minute of play forced Carabelas's goalkeeper Simon Claris to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 77th minute of the match Arturo Fix shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Simon Claris showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Mariano Aragones sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Salvador Weterio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Norberto Santiago having to interfere. Mariano Aragoness short, quick shot in the 83rdth minute got Norberto Santiago to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Salvador Weterio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Simon Claris showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredo Xabat in the 86th minute of the match. If Salvador Weterio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
