This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Astor Maurino as he didn't even see the shot coming. Ciriaco Chale sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 22 minutes into the match, Ciriaco Chale had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sixto Deunoro. Saldán FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ciriaco Chale was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Saturnino Ariando managed to get in a good position for a shot. Correra AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Saturnino Ariando was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sixto Deunoro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Ciriaco Chale had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 36 minutes into the match, Saldán FC's goal looked a bit too open when Saturnino Ariando came free, but Sixto Deunoro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 44 minutes, Marcelo Guzman mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Saldán FC and the Correra AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Marcelo Guzman hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Aristides Haimar made the kick off in the second half. Anier Abeijon kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Astor Maurino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aristides Haimar, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. The audience was convinced that Saturnino Ariando's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sixto Deunoro was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. Correra AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Saturnino Ariando was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Astor Maurino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Saul Acosta in the 76th minute of play. The supporters of Saldán FC booed when Correra AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Baltasar Paio didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Saldán FC's zone, Ciriaco Chale stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sixto Deunoro came out of the goal and Ciriaco Chale tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Correra AFC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Correra AFC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
