But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gonzalo Montxo couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Putrachoique FC booed when Lxs Pibxs De Liberman was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anastasio Neron didn't get a good kick on the ball. Putrachoique FC's Gonzalo Veto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Putrachoique FC from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gonzalo Montxo in the 36th minute of play forced Lxs Pibxs De Liberman's goalkeeper Abel Lohitzun to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Luis Iraitz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luis Iraitz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Gonzalo Veto made a huge save. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dionisio Gaizko to make the kick off. Lxs Pibxs De Liberman's Abel Lohitzun played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gonzalo Montxo in the 53rd minute of play. Gonzalo Montxo was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 56th minute. Putrachoique FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Gonzalo Montxo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Putrachoique FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Gonzalo Montxo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Abel Lohitzun breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Javier Maore charged in rather forcefully in the 68th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down.
