The supporters of Tambillos booed when Humboldt FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Artemio Roano didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

If Benjamin Ceandro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Urbano Rito made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Humberto Pueblo sent off a good shot on target. Urbano Rito was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Humberto Pueblo showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-1 in the 54 minute of play. 57 minutes into the match, Humboldt FC's goal looked a bit too open when Humberto Pueblo came free, but Urbano Rito reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tambillos's Federico Ceandro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Natalio Ubendu in the 84th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Natalio Ubendu in the 86th minute of play forced Tambillos's goalkeeper Federico Ceandro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
