LASPELOTAS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Recreativo Claromeco the free kick. Recreativo Claromeco's Bernardo Txartiko played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nereo Gartzi in the 62nd minute of play. In the 84th minute Nereo Gartzi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernardo Txartiko saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Nereo Gartzi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bernardo Txartiko was relentless in the 86th minute of the game. The LASPELOTAS fans cheered their team off the field, for while Recreativo Claromeco had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
