The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jose Fernandes in the 5th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Angelino Distiratsu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jose Fernandes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ladislao Cruz kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Jose Fernandes managed to get in a good position for a shot. LASPELOTAS's supporters rose to their feet, but Jose Fernandes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Angelino Distiratsu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Esteban Fernanco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Osvaldo Iliana in the 25th minute of the match. Carolo Barrionuevo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Esteban Fernanco having to interfere. The supporters of Chanchuni booed when LASPELOTAS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Victorino Mark didn't get a good kick on the ball. Osvaldo Iliana received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Esteban Fernanco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nereo Gartzi got free with Angelino Distiratsu in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Orlando Viator was the one to do the kick off. Angelino Distiratsu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jose Fernandes in the 54th minute of the match. Orlando Ponc kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Angelino Distiratsu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nereo Gartzi's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. Orlando Viator received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Esteban Fernanco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Osvaldo Iliana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 75 minutes, Osvaldo Iliana managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chanchuni's supporters crossed their fingers, but Osvaldo Iliana was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 77 minutes into the match, LASPELOTAS's goal looked a bit too open when Orlando Viator came free, but Esteban Fernanco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Esteban Fernanco was a little too slow when Orlando Viator got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 78th minute. The score was now 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Orlando Viator in the 83rd minute of play forced LASPELOTAS's goalkeeper Esteban Fernanco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Osvaldo Iliana got free with Esteban Fernanco in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Angelino Distiratsu came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by LASPELOTAS's Jose Fernandes. But to his dismay, Jose Fernandes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1.
