Norberto Escobar had in the 40thth minute some difficulties stopping Ivan Teyo's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Rafael Misael took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Damian Mirande, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 48th minute, Damian Mirande got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hernan Frechoso made a kick off.
