Gaudencio Laurin struck a weak shot in the 5th minute. Vinicio Toro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Iruya AFC. Vinicio Toro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ricardo Lauro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ricardo Lauro got free with Alfredo Estefan in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 16 minutes into the game, Elpidio Feliu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Patagones's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Iruya AFC the free kick. After 16 played minutes Patagones got a freekick which was hit by Elpidio Feliu. Vinicio Toro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gaudencio Laurin in the 26th minute of play. A collision led to Iruya AFC getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Faustino Boni hit a great ball. When Ricardo Lauro came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Patagones fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ricardo Lauro couldn't finish the play. Geronimo Urki charged in rather forcefully in the 33rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Geronimo Urki the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ricardo Lauro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half Iruya AFC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ricardo Lauro to make the kick off. Vinicio Toro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juan Sesuldo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 55th minute, Juan Sesuldo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Iruya AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Juan Sesuldo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Saul Montel kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Vinicio Toro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Siro Santikurtz in the 92nd minute of the match. Vinicio Toro acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 94th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Saverio Errapel. Iruya AFC played a much better game than Patagones and deserved their victory. The Patagones players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
