Guillermo Garcia came out of the goal and Maximiliano Fanuco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Maximiliano Fanuco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guillermo Garcia having to interfere. Defensores del Monte's Abel Mofre got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 39 minutes into the match, Balcarce AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Abel Mofre came free, but Guillermo Garcia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Balcarce AFC defense, Abel Mofre kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Guillermo Garcia. The Balcarce AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Guillermo Garcia should have stopped the shot. In the 46th match minute, Balcarce AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Herminio Montez to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eriberto Ospin in the 48th minute of play forced Defensores del Monte's goalkeeper Ciro Quinteros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half Defensores del Monte were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Maximiliano Fanuco in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Guillermo Garcia saved Balcarce AFC from getting behind. In the 63rd minute, Maximiliano Fanuco ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Guillermo Garcia was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Maximiliano Fanuco managed to get in a good position for a shot. Defensores del Monte's supporters rose to their feet, but Maximiliano Fanuco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Guillermo Garcia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Abel Mofre fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guillermo Garcia having to interfere. The Defensores del Monte fans' excitement grew in the 71st match minute when Defensores del Monte's Maximiliano Fanuco looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. With a little luck, Balcarce AFC's Guillermo Garcia got control of the ball when Maximiliano Fanuco tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 93rd minute, Balcarce AFC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Maximiliano Fanuco fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post.
